This country – and much of the world economy – is in a backwards slide that must be reversed. Many leaders in corporate America today, including me, have ideas on the biggest challenges we face and the best solutions. I shared my own views on this recently with the National Association for Business Economics in Washington, D.C., of which our Chief Economist Gene Huang is president. To revitalize our economy and build opportunity for current and future generations, we must: • Reduce our reliance on imported petroleum; • Combat overregulation; and • Revitalize business through tax reform, education and training.

Recently, FedEx locations in Indianapolis, Pittsburgh and around the country may have looked more like a flower farm than a package sorting facility to visitors and employees alike. That’s because this week marked the company’s 15th year of support for the American Cancer Society’s annual Daffodil Days spring fundraising event – a time when millions of daffodil blooms are prepared, packaged and delivered by FedEx Express and FedEx Ground team members to donors in dozens of cities across 10 states nationwide.

During the holidays, we often hear the Peak shipping season referred to as our “Super Bowl”.
Well, when the big game comes to your hometown, that term becomes larger than life. Indianapolis recently hosted Super Bowl XLVI and FedEx played a major role delivering the biggest game of the year. Planning begins months in advance and impacts all operations. Here’s a behind the scenes look at how we delivered the Super Bowl:
...Looking back, it was a tough week; one in which the harsh weather added a layer of unfriendliness.
And yet, knowing that at least 40 more people had somewhere to rest offered a sense of warmth and comfort even the hostile weather couldn’t dissipate.
We are investing in the future in a big way with sponsorship of FIRST Robotics program at FedEx. For the past ten years, FedEx has been supporting the teams across the nation and world with donated shipping. It is the second largest charitable shipping program which we sponsor.

FedEx is proud to once again be listed among the top ten most admired companies in the world, according to a survey published in FORTUNE magazine.
The annual “World’s Most Admired Companies” report released today listed FedEx as the #6 ranked company, up two positions from our rank in 2011. |
