The Greening of the Global Supply Chain |

On Monday, I spoke to a unique audience of transportation executives and academic leaders on “The Greening of the Global Supply Chain.” I recapped our efforts at FedEx to have a more energy efficient and environmentally responsible set of operations in our operating companies. We call these initiatives, by the way, EarthSmart, and you’ll be seeing that logo on a lot of different FedEx applications. I offered a little bit of a history of our efforts in that regard. Then I addressed the efforts of a group of which I’m very proud to be a member, the Energy Security Leadership Council that has had a very important effect on the energy debates, in Washington, and my views on initiatives such as a carbon tax.
